Aha!They are pretty hard to kill and do have a habit of resurrecting themselves- I treat mine to moderate regular watering with an occasional small dose of Charlie Carp..and lots of encouraging words.
(They do better when not in seriously frying sunlight- dappled shade is good).
unluckily they have cut a lot of the branches from the trees that gave me afternoon shade. So yes, some serious sunshine in the arvo.
